N.C. On-site Wastewater Contractors and Inspectors Certification Board

The purpose of the North Carolina On-Site Wastewater Contractors and Inspectors Certification Board is to protect the environment and public health, safety, and welfare by ensuring the integrity and competence of on-site wastewater contractors and inspectors; to require the examination of on-site wastewater contractors and inspectors and the certification of their competency to supervise or conduct the construction, installation, repair or inspection of on-site wastewater systems; to establish minimum standards for ethical conduct, responsibility, training, experience, and continuing education for on-site wastewater system contractors and inspectors; and to provide appropriate enforcement procedures for rules adopted by the NCOWCICB.

IMPORTANT
ALL CERTIFICATIONS EXPIRE Dec. 31, 2009. Renewal invoices for 2010 will be mailed out in November.

If a renewal invoice has not been received by Nov. 20, please contact NCOWCICB. The renewal fee is separate from any fee that may have been paid to a class provider. Renewals must be mailed to NCOWCICB P O Box 132 Lawsonville, NC  27022. Renewal fees are NOT accepted at classes. To ensure that the renewal is processed and certification cards are received by Jan 1, 2010, renewal must be received by Dec. 15 . Any renewals received after that date are not guaranteed of being processed by Jan. 1. Any renewal received after Jan. 31, 2010, will incurr an additional $25 late fee.  Any renewal received after March 31, 2010, will not be processed and the former certification holder will need to reapply to NCOWCICB for certification. 

Renewal fees for 2010 are as follows: 

                       Grade Level I -- $75.00                    Grade Level II -- $75.00
                       Grade Level III -- $75.00                   Grade Level IV -- $75.00
                       Inspector -- $75.00                           Combo Installer/Inspector -- $125.00
